Full-fledged data handling
The RA-130 can not only store up to 1100 measurement results in its internal memory, it stores these values together with sample identifications and the date and time when the measurements have been performed. Thanks to a built-in IrDA interface, measured results can be transmitted to a printer or a personal computer at anytime.
The RA-130 is well prepared for all types of sugar concentration measurements
as it is equipped with the three most commonly used scales in the sugar industry: Brix, HFCS42 and HFCS55.
A graphical backlit display
and an intuitive menu structure provide an easy operation and a clear visualization of the measured values.
The RA-130 is ergonomically designed for for two different ways of operation: The sample can either be applied onto the measuring cell or the measuring cell can directly be immersed into the sample to be measured.
The refractive index of a sample depends on temperature. The RA-130 determines the temperature during measurement and corrects the result to a standard temperature of 20°C or any other temperature the user defines. The temperature compensation coefficient ⍺ used for this correction depends on the nature of the sample being measured. The RA-130 can store up to 10 such compensation coefficients and the user can easily switch between these coefficients prior to measurement.
The RA-130 can store up to 1100 results in its internal memory. The results include the measured value, the temperature, the unit of the result, the date and time of measurement and the sample identification. One, several or all results can easily be transmitted to a printer or to a personal computer at any time. For this purpose, an IrDA interface is required. This interface available as an option.

KEM does not only supply refractometers, it has was well a JCSS (Japan Calibration Service System) Accredited Calibration Laboratory (assessed on JIS Q 17025:2000 (ISO/IEC 17025:1999) where a wide range of certified refractive index standard reference material is produced. KEM has the JCSS accreditation number 0115. The refractive index of these standards is determined with a laser interferometer. All standards come with a certificate bearing the JCSS symbol which assures their traceability to National Measurement Standards of Japan which are recognized worldwide through the ILAC and APLAC MRA.
The refractive index standard reference material is always supplied as a set of two 10 mL vials: 1 vial of standard reference material water and one vial of standard reference material with a different refractive index (organic solvent). The refractive index standard reference material has a shelf life of 12 months. The certified Brix standard reference material is supplied in sets of two 10 mL vials. This type of standard reference material has a shelf life of 1 month only.
