The EMS-1000S is an innovative viscometer with cutting-edge technology and user-friendly operation.
This new style of viscosity measurement employs the electromagnetically spinning method. A small probe sphere in the sample rotates by Lorentz force, and its speed depends on the sample viscosity. The EMS-1000S then measures that speed and calculates the viscosity.
Best suited for very small samples and reuse of precious samples
A sample volume as small as 300μL – or with the optional assay kit, as little as 90μL – can be measured. During measurement, the samples are contamination-free, and samples can be reused for other purposes after measurement.
Intuitive and user-friendly GUI operation
The user-friendly software makes this device easy to operate. The measurement result, the status of the sample and the graph plotting the measurement results show up together on one screen. It’s easy to compare the measured data with the data acquired in the past by the powerful search function of the database.
Reliable measurement with built in camera
You can check the status of the sample in real time with the built in camera of the main unit. In addition, more accurate measurement is possible by checking and adjusting the position and rotation status of the spherical probe.
Versatile measuring container and disposal
No cleaning is required – measurements are performed in a disposable sample container. No cross-contamination is possible. Autoclavable parts – ideal for samples which must be measured in a sterile environment such as proteins. And suitable for measurements under anaerobic conditions – the sealed sample container allows for measurements to be performed in an inert-gas atmosphere.
